To empower underprivileged women, particularly dalit women & safeguard children’s rights by helping them understand their role and responsibility in fighting against all sorts of violence and discrimination, principally those centering on caste and gender, and thus promote the establishment of Human Rights in a just society.

A medical camp for reproductive health services was held on Monday (August 25) from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Loknath Temple premises in Ghoshnaga in Tala Upazila, under the joint initiative of the Dalit Empowerment Foundation (DEF),a non-governmental development organization and donor partner NUOVI SPAZI AL SERVIRE ONG – Onlus, Italy under Ò Promoting disaster response and health risk reduction strategies for dalit/disadvantaged women at Tala in Satkhira.(PDRHRS).At the beginning of the medical camp,DEF Executive Director Deepali Das Briefly addressed the attendees about the importance of reproductive health.The medical camp is provided by Gynecologist Dr. Bani Saha, assisted by a medical assistant and a nurse. Also present were DEF Advisor Mr. Sergio Targa and the organization’s Program Coordinator Farzana Kabir, along with other staff.Through this medical camp,a total of 32 women, including members of the Gangarampur Dalit Women’s Group and other underprivileged women of the area,were provided free medical services and free medicines. The people of the area were very happy with this initiative of DEF.
